Good day people, I was asked a question by a follower Why do men and women cheat on their spouse’s and is it cheating if your not married. Meaning if your dating or engaged.
Well I personally think that it is done for a number of reasons. I can only speak for men though. To me the number one reason men cheat is because the flesh over takes the mind. Men are visual creatures we see it smell it touch it grab it. When a man sees an attractive woman his senses kick in and it triggers his mind to think sex. Or I wonder what that is like, it takes maturity to learn how to overcome your flesh and possible just look and not pursue. On the other hand if you are missing something at home which is usually the case in most situations men will cheat. Also if your wife is not on the same sexual experience or no how level as you are. These things could cause a serious problem because someone is not being satisfied and that cause or may cause the other person to seek that what is missing from somewhere else. Now is it cheating before marriage? No. It’s only cheating if your married. My belief is that when a man ask a women to marry him they are married and bonded form that point. Why? Let me tell. How many wedding have you been to and the groom asked the bride to marry him at the altar? None. So when you ask her to marry you and she says yes… buddy your married. The wedding day is to symbolize the day that you and her go before GOD to make your vows to each other. Life –Lessons now that one was for free.
I agree with LL that people cheat for various reasons. From a woman's perspective, it seems some cheat from lack of attention at home, feeling unappreciated by their spouse after time in the marriage, no chemistry sexually or emotionally like it was in the beginning of the relationship ect. are a few common examples. From both perspectives, some cheat for the thrill of something new, because one or the other of the spouses has cheated and it is more of a revenge factor. All of these reasons are not excusable by any means, however, I have learned as I get older I don't judge the couple's who are in cheating situations. They have to take this sin before God and ask for forgiveness. Would I be upset if my spouse cheated on me? Of course, but I can't say that I would end the marriage like I KNOW I would have if I had married in my 20s. My mode of thinking is a little different now and I would try some other things before just giving up on the marriage.
I don't agree with LL assumption that it is not cheating unless you are married. Cheating is cheating whether your are dating, engaged or married. Yes because I am married, I have taken a vow before God to solely take my husband as my one and only mate "until death do us part", but I had the same mentality when we were exclusively dating one another. If you can't commit and not cheat when we are dating exclusively or engage, why in the world would I think you would change and do right after we say I do? Most of time it does happen.
Well Dr. Phil...........I mean mr. Life lessons thanks for the knowledge! Lol. In my opinion, I think cheating occurs because two people are on two different pages. In order to have a monogamous relationship, each party has to be on the same wave lengths. I also believe this dictates the grounds of cheating. If u and your significant other agree to flirting not considered as cheating, then by all means get ur flirt on. If u and ur mate deiced that dancing with someone else is cheating, then u might want to grab u a seat at the bar all night. I don't have an opinion on what's right or wrong, but in each scenario u will note that I made the point of saying what the decision was based on both parties involved. If u are having to keep things from your mate, no matter big or small, then yes your cheating. People decieve because they're afraid of the consequences. So if you've found yourself keeping secrets from your mate, you're guilty. You're guilty not because of your actions, but guilty for your deceptions. I'm not judging for one minute, by all means do u. But the only point I'm making is you're the determinate of whether your cheating or not because you are the first one to know. In the words of Forrest Gump..........that's all I gotta say about that!
